Happy St. Nick!

One favorite tradition in our family is that on December 4th we put our wooden shoes out and when we wake up on December 5th, St. Nick has come and filled them with treats. My dad's family is Dutch and we have celebrated the Dutch Christmas for as long as I can remember. Well, St. Nick delivered again yesterday.

(I have a new candy weakness...Candy Cane Hershey Kisses. YUM!) (Elisabeth...your shoe is coming!)

We usually make Oliebollen (donut holes) but I'm sad to say didn't happen last night. I'll have to make it up to the kids when Elisabeth comes home.

But the kids were happy.
That's all that matters right?
(Here's Emma modeling her new necklace and ring and enjoying her candy entirely too much! Yes, that's chocolate and candy cane all over her face! Between the candy from the parade on Saturday and now St. Nick, she's going to be on a sugar high until New Year's!)

I love family traditions! What a great way to keep and honor your heritage!

That's so cool! I think we need to come up with a family tradition or something, it makes it so much more fun. Emma should enjoy herself, when she gets older she'll be too concerned about calories and all of that stuff. Drink it up now girly!
