Make My Day!.

I got a totally unexpected, yummy surprise today!

A couple of weeks ago, I got a call at 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning from our ward organist. She was ill and not able to make it to church that day and wanted to know if I could play the organ for Sacrament Meeting. I said I'd do it and it was all good.

*Side note-- I don't really know how to play the organ correctly. I play it like a piano and I turn the foot pedals off. I don't think most people can tell. In fact, I shocked my husband the last time I played. He had no idea I could play the organ. It's fun being a fake sometimes!*

Well, it all went well this time. I didn't accidently push the "trumpet" button like I did the last time I had played. (It's always nice to have a little comedy relief in Sacrament Meeting sometimes!) It was actually kind of fun.

Anyway, while I was cooking dinner tonight, I heard a knock at the door and there was our organist with a yummy, still warm loaf of Chocolate Chip Bread (yes, it tasted as good as it sounds!!!!) to say thanks for playing for her.

How nice was that!?!

I know you don't perform service for any recognition but it is really nice when others show appreciation sometimes!

Thanks for making my day Rebecca! How nice of you to think of me and to actually bake something in this heat!!! It was so delicious! You were right...it did taste good with butter!

That bread sounds yummy in my tummy. I wish we were there yesterday to hear you play. We were home listening to our stuffy, runny noses instead.

Cari,
What an awesome opportunity to play the organ! I am sure you did a great job, even though I couldn't hear it here in Texas. Did Rebecca Chock make the bread? Or some Rebecca I don't know. Say hello to all there in Provo from me to those who know me and if you want to those who don't! by the way, I love your bike! I have one that looks like that.
