Where Has My Mind Gone?

True story.
Last night at 8:20 p.m. I was enjoying a good game of Apples to Apples with my kids.
(You haven't played until you've played with Cole. That's all I'm going to say about that.)
Anyway, I'm playing and then it dons on me...

"I'm the new Primary Chorister and tomorrow is my first day."

Yes, I completely forgot about my new calling.

Luckily, we have an awesome pianist who just
laughed when I told him.
And luckily it's Christmas time
and there's a song called "The Nativity Song"
and I still had the costumes from when the Primary did the Nativity at the Christmas party a few years back so at least I had something at a little fun to do.

Way to start a calling off on the right foot!

I tell you, I don't know where my mind has gone lately.
I used to be on the ball but now I'm lucky if the ball is in sight!

*sigh*

It really sucks getting older.

I'm sure you did wonderfully well, you always do. Sorry H wasn't there to request talk dirty to me, perhaps next Sunday.

I'm sure it's not age (you are still young) maybe it's that you were blond in your former life? That is always an option. Hah!

You too? I'm the primary Chorister in my ward too and I feel like I forget about my calling every week! Last Sunday I had lots of other things going on in addition to primary, so I just had the kids make 'snowballs' out of paper with their favorite songs on them. I was tempted to let them throw the snowballs but our primary is in the chapel, so we just made a snowman instead! It was fun and I didn't have to plan much at all this week! :)

You have one of my dream callings. Primary chorister! How did you get so lucky? My other 2 ideal callings would be: Nursery Leader and Camp Director. Everyone thinks it's funny that I love the callings that most people dread, but I've never had any of them.

Late every Saturday night, I suddenly remember that there will be two darling Sunbeams awaiting a wonderful lesson from me the next morning.
It's a good thing that they have a short attention span, and I have an endless supply of fruit snacks to get us through Primary each week.
I just stumbled onto your blog. Love the perfume story.
