Wow.
Is anyone else thankful to have made it through 2009?

(I have 306 more gray hairs, about 20 more pounds, and a nice worry line on my forehead to prove it.)
I am so looking forward to 2010.

It's so weird typing that.
I remember seeing the movie 2010 Space Oddessy on a date in the 80's.
I don't remember much about it except every thing was the world was all futuristic.
Funny.
Anyway,
I really am looking forward to 2010.
A lot of changes will be affecting our family.
Good changes.
Exciting changes.
Here's some of my thoughts on the new year:
Elisabeth will be a college graduate in April. I am so proud of her! This means she'll be a full-fledged teacher in the fall. Those kids will be lucky to have her!
Jake will be finishing his first year of college as a Junior. When he gets back from his mission, he'll be able to get right into his major. I'm so thankful he's worked so hard!
Jake will be starting his mission papers this month and will be leaving on his mission this summer. I can't believe it! This holiday season was the last one for 6 years that my family would be together. Once Jake leaves for his mission, Scott and Cole will follow immediately after. This is going to be hard but it is exciting to think of my boys spreading the Good Word of the gospel all over the world!
(All over the world...yikes! I'm trying to be strong.)
Lee will be transferring to a new department at work writing and developing training curriculum. This will be a good change.
He will be able to put his awesome talents to work!
Scott will be entering his all-important Senior year in high school.
He'll be applying for colleges and scholarships.
I'm sure much dating will be mixed in with the hard work!
His goal...to be a dating legend. :)
Cole will be (hopefully) concentrating on school and not girls.
Poor kid won't be able to date until next year.
Max will be going through that tough stage of not being a little kid or a big kid.
I think this will be a year of self discovery for him.
Emma will be making the big adjustment of going to school all day this fall.
Although, I'm thinking this isn't going to be too difficult for her since
she loves school so much.
I will be working on getting myself back. I know I'm somewhere under all this fat!
I will also be developing my little business into something more than
just felt hair clips.
Lee will also be working on his side businesses.
I'm crossing my fingers they take off and the real numbers look
like they do on paper!
So, it's going to be a busy year
but a good one -- I can feel it!
My family is working on a little
New Year's greeting today.
I'll post it when it's done so I'll wait til then to wish you all a
Happy 2010!
