I was pretty much having a crappy day today. I hate to admit this but some Sunday's I just don't want to deal with going to church. Don't worry, my testimony isn't wavering, it's just so hard sometimes with trying to perform my responsibilities and trying to take care of my active, clingy two-year-old. Today is the Sunday before the Primary Sacrament Meeting Program and I was starting to feel the stress of all that and Emma was giving me problems all day about going to nursery. She had to go today because I had to be in Primary without her. So, I was pretty much dreading church today.
(I'm not necessarily complaining...just stating facts here!)
Things were crazy as ever getting there and then Sacrament Meeting started and things calmed down for a while.
Then I looked over at Emma and Cole.
There's nothing like trying to enjoy the testimonies of ward members and your children are making you laugh! I'm sure everyone in my ward thinks I'm so disrespectful sometimes but dang it's hard not to laugh when you are around my children. Emma & Cole were killing me during Sacrament Meeting! Emma was making sure Cole was sitting up and not laying forward (like he normally does). She'd lean over and sit him up, then she'd reach over, in her own loving way, and give him a hug and kiss and say, "You all right." Then Cole was doing all of his little goofy faces and making Emma laugh. Of course, Emma had to do a "scary" face back. It was also funny to look down at Emma's legs and see the lovely drawing she did on her legs this morning with a black sharpie through her tights.
(Notice the job she did on her toe nails! Nice.)
Somehow Cole ended up playing with Emma's doll and the nice lady sitting next to us was amazed that Cole knew how to swaddle a baby. It was fun to listen to the singing of hymns also. They just crack me up! I really did try to listen to the testimonies this afternoon. I caught a couple of them but for the most part, I was totally distracted today.
So, today, I'm afraid I would have to say, that
I am thankful for humorous children that can always put a smile on my face!

I love the nails. They are just loverly. I miss sacrament meeting with you guys. It's so quiet in the student ward. I feel like I'm being too loud when sneeze or something.
Emma is quite the little beautician. Although, she may want to try washable markers next time!
she totally gets her style sense from Elisabeth...
You are normal. You're just braver than most to admit it in a public forum. Going to church can be a challenge, especially when you have little kids that can be good or bad distractions or attention needers.
