Today, I am thankful for my home.
I know that my home has been the subject of many of my complaints.
Sure, it really isn't big enough for my large family, it's made of the cheapest materials known to man, a man obviously designed it (hence the laundry room that you can't even get a basket in to get the clothes out of the dryer and the "used-to-be" off-white carpet), and it is built directly across a small driveway from my neighbor so we are literally staring at each other all day
...BUT...
it is my home.
My family and I are happy here. We have lived here longer than we have anywhere else our whole married life. Many of our memories are here. It is the only home our two youngest children have ever known and the home the rest of them remember most.
Our children love it.
It is where we feel safe and protected.
Maybe it won't be our home forever...
but for now it's ours and I am thankful for it.

What do you mean it was obviously built by a man?
Okay, unfair I know. Let me rephrase that...It was obviously built by a middle-aged man who has never done any type of housework in his life. I know that men of today have more of a clue when it comes to things like this. Thanks for bringing my unfairness to my attention!
I don't think it was entirely un-true. I have to kind of agree. But there are men out there who do do laundry, and they deserve credit!
I miss that house!
