It's Good to Have Fun Brothers

Max had a friend over yesterday.
This always stresses me out because quite frankly,
unless the kids can play outside,

our home isn't fun.

I wish I had a cool family room with video games and room to play but we don't.
And the kid's bedrooms are crammed so there's really no room to play in there either.

When Max's friends are over, it's always hard because we've got the older boys who are busy with their homework, etc. and Emma wants to play too
which doesn't always go over well.
Anyway, when Max's friend was over yesterday they played our ancient Game Cube for a while and a few rounds of Hyper Dash
(which didn't go well with those doing homework!)
but then they got a little bored.

So, Jake (bless his heart) brought out the balloons and made balloon swords, hats, dogs, etc.

It was a hit.
The kids loved it!

I'll pretend I didn't see the jumping off the couch!

Emma even got into it.

Thanks Jake!
What a good brother!

Since when does Jake know how to make those?

Our home is totally not fun, either. I planned it that way. But now it's backfiring and we are quickly trying to make it the place our teenagers want to hang out. Maybe you could send Jake over next time there's a get-together?

You have described my life and playdates to a tee. YOU are the amazing one. At least I could pull out Barbies or Bitty Baby's etc..I could not even begin to imagine your noise and patience. Can you imagine what it was like when all the pioneers had was a sod dug out? And jillions of kids with croup?
