Month of Thanks -- Day Thirteen

Lee announced last week that he was going to run the half marathon next September.

I decided to join him.

Yes, you read that right.
My goal is to get in shape so I can do this.

First step has been to give up soda.
This is huge for those of you who know me.
I'm not gonna lie,
it's been hard (especially with a Walker's at the corner!)
But I do feel better.
And for some weird reason, I haven't been eating as much either.

Next step is to start walking/running.
Please don't laugh at me if you see me around the neighborhood as I'm sure I will look funny at first.  :)

But, before you know it,
I'll look like this...
Okay, I may or may not look like this but
I know I will feel better!

Anyway,
today I'm thankful for lemons that I can add to water to make it taste better
and that I'm not going to have to do this alone.

If you ever want someone to exercise with, I'd love to join you! I'm hoping to be able to run a 5K in March without stopping. So far, I can run 3 minutes without stopping. I'm totally not kidding. Again, I think you're so awesome!

Good for you Cari! We started the couch to 5k program last spring, unfortunately I never made it to the 5k before the morning sickness floored me but I was up to jogging (on the treadmill) for quite a few minutes at a time! It was a great program if you've never heard of it. (free too!) I'm looking forward to getting some more exercise after the baby! Pregnancy and exercise have a hard time going together for me.

GO CARI!! Good for you! We (well, some of us) are all about running in this house. (I'm just good at supporting right now.)

you totally need to read the book, "running with angels"---it will inspire you more to stick to your goal---it's a mom's journey to be able to run a marathon--easy, quick read--i loved it.
