A Whole Lot of Cookin' Going On

You know, good cooks spend hours in the kitchen.
Emma is no exception.
She slaved all day, yesterday, cooking her fabulous
Block Stew.
First, she added blocks of many shapes and colors to a large mixing bowl.
Next, she added miscellaneous pieces of plastic play food and a balled up sock (the potato).
Then she got some tips from her favorite cooking show host,
Paula Deen.
She then added her special ingredient -- cut up ribbons.
(I especially like how she had her ingredients divided into little cups, just like the cooking shows!)
She mixed it and mixed it all day.
When it was time to run some errands, she said she couldn't go because she needed to cook her stew.
I insisted she had to come since no one was home to watch her and
  she was very upset.
I told her to just let it simmer and she reluctantly agreed.
We got home and she ran to her stew and said,
"Oh man! It burned!"
With a deep sigh, she started the whole process over.
After she had it all mixed again, we had to go to a song practice for an upcoming ward activity,
so she told Scott as we were leaving,
"Keep an eye on my stew--'K'."
We got home and she was very relieved it didn't burn.
Scott was the hero!
She dished it out so it would be ready to serve for dinner.
We're so lucky we have such a great cook in our house.
Yummy Block Stew!
