As many of you know,
Emma has a lazy eye.
One of the things her eye doctor recommended was for us to patch her "good" eye and have her do things that she will have to concentrate on like reading, coloring, etc. to help strengthen her lazy eye's muscles.
Well, I thought she'd love to learn to needlepoint and I wasn't wrong on this one.
She thought that was really cool!
(So today we're practicing without the patch.)
I told her I'd even help her make Christmas presents using needlepoint.
She is so excited.
So, today she had
her first sewing lesson.
I think she's getting the hang of it.

how cute! this totally reminds me of mom making me a little sewing kit when i was little.
Aww. It's plastic canvas. Which makes me think of Grandma B. Which makes me both a little happy and sad at the same time. I'm glad she is enjoying it.
I'm excited for my present! Thanks for the picture of Scott. They look so cute!
I saw her in the hall yesterday; I didn't think she'd recognize me, but she did. She looked up, and smiled...I didn't notice 'the eye' at all.
Julia has something like a lazy eye, too. She hated those patches with a passion... except for the one day that her dad got the idea of all of us wearing one and pretending to be pirates. That was awesome!
