The kids wanted a fresh Christmas tree this year instead of our usual artificial one.
So, Lee took Cole, Emma, and Max to Baum's Christmas Tree lot -- a local favorite.
They found a cool little tree. It was super fresh and even had little pinecones on it!
We decided to go the old fashioned route when it came to decorating this year.
We went with simple
and it was great!

We (as in we, I mean Emma and me) strung popcorn and cranberries, made gingerbread cookie ornaments, made paper ornaments, and used some of the hundreds of paper poinsettias I made years ago for a ward activity. Because of the paper ornaments and fresh tree, we opted out of lights on the tree this year. Instead we put them around the window. We took a few of our other decorations out and made a paper chain and some hanging paper ornaments.
Overall,
we loved it!

I LOVE this! This is how I would do our tree every year if I didn't have so many opinions in our household. Beautiful simplicity!
