I hope all you dads out there had a great father's day yesterday! We tried to give Lee a day to relax and enjoy being home. I'm so glad he's home!!! We made him breakfast in bed (heart-shaped pancakes) and the kids made him their traditional cute cards and decorated the house with streamers and the sign "We (heart) daddy!" I think it confused Emma because she kept saying "happy birtday daddy!" I just hope he knows how much we love and appreciate him. I can't even imagine how hard it is to be a dad let alone a good dad like Lee is. I hope he had a great day. It's so good to have him home!!! (have I mentioned that?)
I have to share something that a friend of mine did for Lee yesterday. It was the most thoughtful thing! I ran into her at Walker's on Saturday (I was desperate for a diet coke!) and we were talking about Father's Day. We were casually talking and I mentioned that I was going to have to make spaghetti for Lee's dinner because his check hasn't come yet and that I would have to make it up to him another night. Well, she went home and told her husband and he said that Lee deserved something more because of all Lee does for the boys in our ward. At 10:00 Sunday morning, she's at my door with a roast and all the fixins for me to cook for Lee's dinner. I felt kind of weird accepting it but she said her husband would be mad if I didn't take it so I did. Lee was so excited to have a good meal (especially since all last week his meals were of the "just add water" variety!) . It was the sweetest thing they did! I am so thankful for good friends!
